41045/47/48 Myler 04 Hanging Cheek Low Port Comfort Snaffle

£90.00

Description

*please note that this design measures large, for example a 5" design will measure 5 1/4" and a 5.5" design will measure 5 3/4" etc*

The MB 04 is similar to the MB 02 in that it will rotate on the tongue and apply tongue pressure, however, it has a small (¼") port that introduces some tongue relief to the horse. The port allows the horse to swallow and move his tongue when he is moving forward and relaxed, which acts as a release or reward. The mouthpiece is curved, and it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching.
•Independent Side Movement
•Stainless Steel Mouthpiece
•Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars
•Copper Inlay
•USEF and FEI Dressage Legal 2017. Consult rulebook for more information.

Notes: The MB 04 provides an excellent transition from Level One to Level Two. It is suitable for a wide range of horses including green horses, experienced horses entering the Myler System, horses that have been ridden exclusively in a single-jointed mouthpiece, or horses that have not been ridden for a while needing re-schooling.

Also known as a “hanging cheek” because the bridle attaches at the purchase, the Baucher is typically used for dressage. The fixed cheek keeps the bit suspended in the horse’s mouth and prevents it from sliding around in the bridle, giving the rider more control over the mouthpiece than a traditional loose ring however, the reins remain free to slide when engaged the reins will pull back on the cheekpiece and mouthpiece as well as rotate the purchase forward slightly, creating some poll pressure. Even though it has a fixed cheek, the Baucher is still considered a direct rein action cheekpiece because there is no leverage or curb action.

Customer Reviews

Average customer rating:

I am absolutely delighted with the results of this bit. My Irish Draught who is normally very strong and plays around a lot with his bit has settled very well in the mouth and is accepting the bridle much better. Also because of this his hind legs are coming through much better, thank you Bit Bank as always for your great advice :-)

Was skeptical of trying this, but after a bitting expert suggested I try one i can say I am pleasantly surprised. My WB immediately felt lighter in his mouth, but also in his frame. I definitely have a happier horse. I have tried a few and this is the best for us

A great bit with a complete change in my warmblood who has a large tongue. He is now willing to flex at the poll, softer and almost like a different horse ! Thank you for the great advice.
