I have been searching for a bit for months which enables me to have more control of my horse on cross country. He's very, (almost out of control), 'keen' and suffers with a split mouth after most runs. Have tried absolutely loads of bits, none have worked for me. As a 'last resort' I thought I'd try something that wasn't metal - was reluctant as horse likes to 'chew' a lot on the bit and worried he may eat his way through a 'plastic' one. Used this bit in sj and xc phase and absolutely brilliant. Still got a keen horse but now I'm in control. Did chew on bit still, mouthed up like it was going out of fashion! but bit held up and was undamaged. Mouth also undamaged. Horse semmed extrenely happy with it. Am now going to try happy mouth snaffle for dressage. Would definately recommend.
