The Horse Bit Bank suggested this bit for my ex racehorse. I had been struggling to get a soft, accepting consistant contact without a huge fight, and was finding that I had to drop my hands to get him to work into a frame. I had tried cheaper loose ring lozenges which didnt seem to suit him and had settled for a sprenger Eggbut which was ok but he was getting fixed on the contact. As soon as I put him in this bit I was able to carry my hands but maintain him in a deeper outline. We compete at elementary affiliated dressage and the comments changed from always being about an inconsistant contact and needing to accept the contact to on the forehand, needs to work through more (but no-one's perfect and we're working on those things!)
I was surprised at the difference between this and some of the other loose rings I've tried which looked really similar so I would encourage anyone who is having contact issues to get one on trial and see what you think.
The smaller mouthpiece also seems to suit him so worth considering.
