Portuguese 2½ Ring Happy Tongue
by Bombers Bits
A horse shaking its head when bit pressure is applied or its tongue trying to escape the bit are classic signs the horse has a sensitive tongue. With this in mind the Happy Tongue was created, it has a medium port creating space for the tongue, relieving pressure, allowing the horse to relax.
A Ring cheekpiece introduces poll pressure as well creating leverage on the mouthpiece, the 2 ½ Ring version is the softest version of ring bit as the ½ ring softens the leverage on the mouthpiece and poll.
All our bits are made from blue sweet iron, because it:
- oxidises easily
- encourages salivation
- helps bit acceptance
- is warm and sweet
Please note the blue will fade with use.
Customer Ratings and Reviews for Portuguese 2½ Ring Happy Tongue (1)
This is the first bit I've used on my horse that he has not managed to put his tongue over. I've tried all different types of snaffles (Mylers, Happy Mouths etc) & universals for when I needed a bit more control. I couldn't believe the difference in his flat work. Soft and relaxed from poll to tail. Have also got brakes now when jumping without him getting upset in his mouth.
Thanks for the recommendation ![]()
