A look back at 2025 with The Horse Bit Bank
As we get ever closer to the shortest day of the year, we know there’s a collective feeling among horse owners that simply getting to this point is an achievement. Dark mornings, cold hands, wet rugs and endless mud all take their toll, but after the winter solstice on the 21st of December, there is light (quite literally) at the end of the tunnel. From then on, the days will gradually begin to lengthen again and before we know it, we’ll be counting down to lighter mornings, longer evenings and the first real signs of spring. It’s safe to say that we can’t wait for that!
But before we turn our attention to what’s ahead, we thought it was a good moment to look back at 2025 here at The Horse Bit Bank. It’s been another whirlwind year and writing our final blog of the year is always a fun way to remember everything we’ve done! So, let’s dive in…
Supporting you through the seasons
From January goal setting and getting horses fit ready for spring through to entering competitions, the highs and lows of the season and reviewing how it all went, we’ve been here for our followers all year round. Whatever the time of year, our focus has remained the same: helping riders find the bits that keep horses comfortable and happy in their work.
Education has been a big part of that in 2025. We’ve shared so many social posts, videos and blogs crammed with practical content covering bit and bridle fit, mouth conformation and how to choose the right bit based on individual horses rather than trends or trial and error alone. We’ve also looked closely at mouthpieces, cheekpieces and materials, explored common bitting issues and explained how to clean and care for bits properly, something that’s particularly important as new and innovative materials continue to appear on the market.
New designs and trusted advice
This year has also seen the introduction of new bit designs from brands such as Bombers, Neue Schule, Sprenger and Fager, giving riders more choice than ever before. We’re proud to stock so many amazing brands and share their new designs with our customers and followers. While that level of innovation is exciting, we know it can also feel overwhelming, which is why our bitting advice line remains such an important part of what we do. If you’re unsure whether a small tweak or a complete change is needed, we’re always happy to talk it through.
Helping you find your horse’s perfect bit
One of the most rewarding parts of 2025 has been helping so many riders find a better solution for their horses through that advice line and in lots of cases, via our 30-day bit trial. It’s designed to take the pressure off choosing, allowing you to try different designs and materials properly and see how your horse responds in their normal routine. As we head into the final weeks of 2025, we’re getting ready for our Christmas shutdown. Our last date to place an order for pre-Christmas posting is Monday 22nd of December and our office will close at 5pm on Tuesday 23rd. We’ll be back and raring to go at 9am on Friday 2nd of January 2026.
