A spring catchup with our sponsored riders.
It seems like only yesterday that we were catching up with our sponsored riders to find out their goals and dreams for the season, and now they’re out and about every week racking up results left, right and centre! In this month’s blog we’ll get you up to date on their latest results and see what’s coming up next for our riders. Plus, there’s a little reminder that it doesn’t matter where in the world you’re located, you can still shop our huge range of bits and accessories.
Sara Bowe
First up is event rider Sara Bowe, who was in action over the Easter weekend at Penrith with some of her younger horses. Sara definitely earnt her Easter eggs taking the win and 9th place in the BE90 Open with Millhouse Pipistrello di Ferro and Sea la Vie respectively, and 10th in the BE100 Open with Captain Morgan GZ. Sara’s been out on her top ride Rinwood MJ, taking 14th in the Advanced at Burnham Market, 19th in the CCI-S 3* at Thoresby and a super 5th in the Advanced Intermediate at Lincoln Horse Trials. We’re so excited to see what this duo achieves this summer and how Sara gets on with the rest of her string.
Lucinda Atkinson
Next is our Northallerton-based event rider Lucinda Atkinson who’s had some really promising results recently, including partnering PRF Made in England to stay on their dressage score to take 3rd place in the CCI-S 2*. That duo went on to take 10th in the Intermediate at Burnham Market where Lucinda had a busy day competing four horses on the same day! Most recently Lucinda’s been to Kellsal Hill where Frankfort Pointllexi (Dot) was, in Lucinda’s words ‘incredible’ in a seriously competitive OI section filled with Badminton-bound combinations, jumping a foot-perfect double clear to take 23rd.
Melissa Chapman
Dressage diva Mel is having a quiet time (well, quiet for her!) as her dressage season is still ramping up but is keeping herself busy in other ways. She’s already held her second training camp of the year and has a busy diary of teaching, clinics and coffee and cake mornings to juggle. With a stable of exciting younger horses and her beloved Romeo we’re excited to see Mel back out competing again very soon!
Jemima Stratton
Jemima’s had a successful start to the season with her seven-year-old Warrenstown V De Muse, taking the win in the 7YO class at Barbury Castle last month! They’re entered in the 7YO class at Cirencester Park this week and we can’t wait to share their results with you - keep an eye on our social media. Jemima is also busy bringing on Biggles, an ex-racehorse formerly trained by Ralph Beckett, and KPCM Hugo Boss, who started his ridden career as a showjumper. It’s a real pleasure to see this talented young rider taking two horses from very different backgrounds forward in their new career as event horses and giving them so much confidence, so make sure you follow Jemima on social media to see how she gets on.
Holly Richardson
This time last year we were preparing to cheer Holly on at her very first Badminton Horse Trials aboard her top horse Bally Louis (who Holly tells us will be back out competing later in the year). This year Holly has been campaigning a seriously exciting string of young horses including Ballyneety Silver Service who has clocked up four double clears in all four outings this season including in the CCI-S 4* at Burnham Market. Holly was also at Kelsall Hill this weekend and posted three out of four horses jumping double clears!
