niklasbf Fager Niklas Baby Fulmer
Description
Fager Niklas is suitable for horses that you would describe as some of the following:
Trows their head, chews on the bit.
Unsteady in the connection.
Feels stiff in a standard straight bit but worried/unstable in a jointed bit.
Doesn't instinctively seek out the contact.
Horses with wear on the teeth/premolars.
Fager Niklas is a stable barrelled sweet-tasting bit with bar relief.
This bit is a good choice for horses that can get too stiff on a traditional straight bit, but are too worried/unstable in a jointed bit. It's also a good choice for horses who need a stable bit to seek a stable contact with.
The barrelled tube mouthpiece creates a fast, natural lock in any direction, making Niklas an ideal solution for horses who need encouragement to actively seek more contact and get a stable feeling without getting stiff like on a straight bit.
The Niklas design is well suited to horses who have wear on the teeth and need a bit that protects the teeth. It's also very gentle to the bars.
Material
Sweet iron is a covering on top of a bit made of stainless steel. The purpose is to disguise the metal taste from stainless steel and create a pleasant, sweet taste, encouraging the horse to seek more contact and hold on to the bit. Following use, sweet iron will start to oxidize and turn brownish grey, this is to be expected.
Sweet iron is a good choice for horses who need to seek more contact with the bit.
Baby fulmer
Baby Fulmer is a registered design by Fager. This sidepiece will give you a mix between the loose and fixed rings. The Fulmers will lay close to the horse’s side, helps with steering, and keep the mouthpiece steady. The loose rings are placed further away from the mouth corners, and this will put the pressure further down and inwards, encourage the horse to lift in the front, come back to your hand, and avoid a stiff feeling towards the bit. It is a very comfortable choice for many horses and a great start for a youngster.
