7026 Neue Schule Turtle TongueKind loose ring snaffle 16mm
Description
Product Name Turtle TongueKIND
Product Code 7026
Mouthpiece Thickness 16mm
Ring / Shank Size 70mm
Size Availability 120-152mm (4.5-6″)
Highly recommended for the most sensitive of tongues. A mild mouthpiece that delivers a broad, smooth profile down onto the tongue, whilst remaining gentle over the bars and commissures (lips). This design offers tongue relief as the weight is spread over a large area instead of being concentrated into a smaller contact area.
This bit usually results in a quiet, relaxed mouth that is attentive and attuned to the riders’ rein aids, so that feel, and responsiveness is not lost. This is unlike most other solid mouthpieces that give a wooden feel through the reins.
Since this design remains further back in the mouth, resting on a thicker, less sensitive area of the tongue it negates the temptation to over tighten the cheek pieces. This is often done to quieten a busy mouth or combat tongue evasions, and is not only uncomfortable, but it also predisposes the lips to rubs and will mask the riders’ rein aids.
The Turtle TongueKind is cleverly designed so that it has the attributes of a fat mouthpiece (large weight bearing surface), but without the bulk between the tongue and palate, and recent research has shown that there is not as much space in the mouth as previously thought.
